Qualification
- Police Constable: Must have passed the Higher Secondary School Certificate Examination (Class 12) conducted by the Divisional Board established under the Maharashtra Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education Act, 1965 (Major Act 41 of 1965) or the examination declared equivalent to this examination by the Government, (Both the Senior Secondary School Examination of National Open School, New Delhi and the CCSE Barabi Examination are equivalent to the Class 12 examination conducted by these State Boards) (Home Department Government Letter No. RCT-0305/CR-266/Pol-5A regarding equivalence with Class 12 examination. (As per Government Decision dated 29/06/2005 and issued from time to time thereafter).

Act 41) or the examination declared by the Government as equivalent to this examination. (Both the Senior Secondary School Examination of National Open School, New Delhi and the CBSE Class 12 Examination are equivalent to the Class 12 examination conducted by this State Board) (As per the Government decision issued by the Home Department vide Government letter No. RCT-0305/CR-266/POL-5A dated 29/06/2005 on equivalence with the Class 12 examination
- Police Bandsmen: It is necessary to pass the Secondary School Certificate (Class 10) examination conducted by the Divisional Board established under the Maharashtra Boards of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education Act, 1965 (Maharashtra Act 41 of 1965).
- Prison Constable: Maharashtra Boards of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education Act, 1965 (General Act of 1965). It is necessary to have passed the Higher Secondary School Certificate Examination (Class 12) conducted by the Divisional Board established under or the examination declared by the Government as equivalent to this examination. (Senior Secondary School Examination of National Open School, New Delhi as well as Both the CBSE 12th examinations are equivalent to the 12th standard examinations conducted by these state boards. (Regarding the equivalence with the 12th standard examination, the Home Department Government Letter No. RCT-0300 Solar 266 Page 5A) dated 21/06/2005 and subsequent Government decisions issued from time to time)
