Eligibility Condition:
1. Only those candidates who are conducting Class VIII during the Academic Session 2019 - 20 in one of the Govt./Govt. Recognized schools of the district where the Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya is functioning and where admission is sought, are eligible.

2. Candidate appearing for the admission test must qualify / pass Class VIII in the academic session 2019 - 20 from a Govt./Govt. A recognized school in the district where he / she is seeking admission.

3. A candidate seeking admission must be born between 01.05.2004 and 30.04.2008 (both days inclusive). This is applicable to all categories of candidates including those who belong to the Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribe.

About NVS:
It is informed that the admission for the Lateral Entry Test for students of Class IX in Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalayas will be held on 08th February 2020. The last date of submission of application form at JNV is 10 December 2019.

At present, there are 636 functional Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalayas spread over 28 States and 07 UTs. In order to optimally utilize the infrastructure and facilities available in these Vidyalayas, it has been decided by the Samiti to fill the vacant seats in IX class through an All India Level Selection Test. The district-wise vacant seats in the Vidyalayas are separately notified in local newspapers.

Navodaya Vidyalaya Admission 2020 Application Form
Online applications may be submitted from 24th October 2019, free of cost. The candidate may refer to the NVS Head Quarters website at www.navodaya.gov.in or the website of JNVs. Deadline to apply for Class-IX Lateral Entry Test is 10th December 2019
Application form duly completed in all respects must reach the Office of the Principal, Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya? of the concerned district on or before 10th December 2019
Duly filled in application forms must be sent through registered post A / D. If the candidate prefers to submit the application form in person, he / she is advised to get the acknowledgment from the Principal of the office of Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya.

Navodaya Vidyalaya Admission 2020 Selection Process
  • Selection in the Selection Test will not vest any right upon the candidate to secure admission in JNV till the candidate produces all relevant certificates such as birth certificate, pass certificate of VIII class with mark sheets, SC / ST certificate, if any, as prescribed. NVS for the admission.
  • Details of the marks obtained in the test will not be communicated and there is no provision for re-checking / re-totalling.
  • Candidates will be considered for the admission only in that Vidyalaya for which he / she has appeared for the Selection Test.
  • At the time of admission, candidates belonging to SC / ST & Other Backward Classes (OBCs) will have to produce the required Scheduled Caste / Tribe or OBC Certificate issued by the competent authority. In any case of dispute, the decision of NVS will be final and binding on the candidates.
JNVST Test Pattern for Class 9
  • Date of JNV Entrance Exam 2020 - Saturday, 08th February 2020
  • The time period is 02 hours (10:00 AM to 12:30 PM). However, in respect of candidates with special needs (Divyang), 30 minutes of additional time will be provided, subject to the production certificates from the competent authority.
  • Center for Exam Shall be the JAWAHAR NAVODAYA ​​VIDYALAYA district concerned / any other center allotted by NVS. If there is any change, the same will be indicated in the admit card.
  • Medium of Language for Examination will be English / Hindi.
  • Students have the answer in the OMR sheet
  • The JNV Selection Test for Class 9 will consist of subjects of Mathematics, General Science, English and Hindi. Difficulty level of the test paper shall be of Class VIII
  • English - 15 Marks
  • Hindi - 15 Marks
  • Maths - 35 Marks
  • Science - 35 Marks
  • Total - 100 Marks
