The Ministry of Telecommunication has asked to launch Central Equipment Identity Register (CEIR) project to control mobile theft and arrest the stolen mobile phones. Under this project, a database of International Mobile Equipment Identity (IMEI) numbers of all mobile phones operated in the country will be created.
