How to update base details online:
  • 1- Through a link available on the UIDAI website, you can add a request to update the base details. Once you visit UIDAI’s website uidai.gov.in and click the Update Base Details (Online) link at the bottom of the page.
  • 2- Submit the request by clicking on the link at the bottom of the page on the next page
  • 3- Once you reach the UIDAI’s self service tool, enter your base number and text verification code. After this step, your registered mobile number will have a One Time Password (OTP). According to the website of UIDAI, it is mandatory to have a mobile number for the password or login reception.
  • 4- Increase on the next step across all requested information.
  • 5- Select the information you want to update and click Submit. You can choose from name, gender, date of birth, address, mobile number and email. You’ll have to go to the update center to get other updates.
  • 6. Fill in the updated information and click Submit Update Request.
  • 7- Keep in mind that the information you have filled with has changed from right to local language.
  • 8- If documents are required as proof for any information, then users can scan the document and upload it.
  • 9- Resident documents can upload self-attested copies.
  • 10- The online updation tool of UIDAI verifies the information you provide. Check your entry. If you want to make a change again, follow the steps ahead by clicking Modify. If everything is okay, then proceed by clicking the Announcement checkbox.

It is not necessary that your base card will be updated with the information submitted for the update. The information given will be first validated and validated. Registered users on the UADAI Portal can also request updates using their email ID and password.
